| There
were times when everyone interested in soccer wondered whether
there would ever be another FA Cup Final at Wembley. But the new
stadium is finished and early reports give it the thumbs up for
comfort, sight of the pitch and just general facilities and design.
Now all we need are some great games to excite the crowd and bring
back the Wembley roar. To be met at your home or hotel and driven
in chauffeured luxury in a Mercedes Viano or fine luxury saloon
to the stadium and for you to see your team win must be one of
the best experiences ever.
Like many sporting events in Britain it is the oldest football
competition in the world dating back to 1871/72 and because it
involves clubs of all standards playing against one another the
possibility of a ‘giant killer’ emerging from the
lower division of the game to beat a top club appeals to the fans
who follow the sport.
The original stadium, which was demolished in 2002, was part of
the British Empire Exhibition which was held on the site in 1924
and was due to be demolished at the end of the exhibition. It
was saved by the chairman of the organising committee and over
the years won a place in the nation’s heart as a showcase
for sporting excellence. Apart from the Twin Towers which adorned
the entrance to the venue, the ‘Hallowed Turf’ and
the 39 steps to the Royal Box have become part of the legend of
the place.
The first FA Cup Final at the new stadium is just the event to
make the decision to arrive in style driven by a liveried chauffeur
in a Mercedes Viano, S Class, Lexus or Mercedes E Class, the right
one. |
